Flying Tumbler Launches into Maryland and Washington DC (Duplicated) (2)

The Bird Has Landed into the Maryland Market

Flying Tumbler Irish Whiskey, independent blender and bottler known for their modern approach to the Irish spirit, is thrilled to announce its expansion into the Maryland market. Taking inspiration from the Irish Flying Tumbler, a pigeon with a natural beacon for home. This marks a significant milestone in the brand’s ongoing mission to share its exceptional whiskey with enthusiasts across the United States.

Arriving in market mid-August, The Bird will be Flying Tumbler’s initial expression introduced into the Free State. A smooth blend of single grain and triple distilled single malt Irish whiskies, matured exclusively in first fill ex bourbon casks for seven years. Flying Tumbler neither chill filters nor artificially colours any of their whiskies before lovingly bottling the fruits of their patience at 86 proof.

The embodiment of Flying Tumbler’s ethos, The Bird was a whiskey made to be enjoyed by all. With hints of sweet clove, lemon and orange peel on the nose. On the front of the palate can be found notes of butterscotch, lychee, toffee, stewed apple and cinnamon. A red fruit mid palate, with a nutty finish. The profile of this unique whiskey is more akin to an American bourbon than its Irish counterparts, making it an excellent gateway into the Irish whiskey category for those who may be new to the spirit.

Flying Tumbler’s entrance into Maryland is supported by a strategic partnership with the Beverage Wholesalers of Maryland and DC, ensuring that the brand is readily available to leading liquor stores, bars, and restaurants throughout the state. This collaboration will support Flying Tumbler to establish a strong presence and connect with Maryland’s discerning consumers. “BWMDDC wholesaler alliance is excited to bring Flying Tumbler Irish whiskies to our retail partners. Not only are the Walsh Brothers building their family legacy, they are focusing on high quality whiskey with a complex but accessible taste profile that will bring new consumers to the Irish whiskey category. It is our privilege to work alongside them, share their story, and supply our retail partners with an authentic, hand-crafted, Irish whiskey their customers will enjoy.” - Sami Myers, Executive Director Beverage Wholesalers of MD and DC.

In addition, the company will also have a dedicated brand representative, their very own Flying Tumbler, based in the state to engage with Maryland’s whiskey community. Fans can follow Flying Tumbler on social media for the latest updates on local, tastings, events, and special promotions.

“Entering the Maryland market is an exciting step for Flying Tumbler”, said Patrick Walsh, Founder of Flying Tumbler Irish Whiskey. “Following the incredible enthusiasm for our whiskey in the capital, Maryland was the obvious next step. We are excited to continue Flying Tumbler’s journey in North America and bring our modern take on a spirit steeped in history to a whole new generation of consumers.”

To celebrate the launch, Flying Tumbler will host a series of exclusive tasting events and cocktail masterclasses in key locations across Maryland. These events will provide whiskey aficionados with the opportunity to experience the unique characteristics of Flying Tumbler’s portfolio and learn about their story, meticulous methods, and curious birds.
